Our Program
What We Do
Darkness to Light offers an evidence-informed, two-hour training curriculum called Stewards of Children, providing adults with the training to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.
The training curriculum is available to any adult with direct or ongoing responsibility for children and adolescents. These adults may be parents, teachers, coaches, youth leaders, mentors, or any other adult who is responsible for the safety of children.
Program Purpose
Darkness to Light is a program that raises awareness and educates adults on how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.
Our Goals
Our goal is to help put an end to the sexual abuse of children and to make Troup County the safest place in Georgia to raise children. Darkness to Light has a goal to train 2,462 adults within the next 3-5 years in Troup County.
Our History
Darkness to Light was adopted and introduced to Troup County by Twin Cedars Youth & Family Services and Troup County Family Connection Authority in October of 2013. This program was made possible by a grant from the Callaway Foundation.
