+CASA Volunteer Supervisor
  1. Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Social Services or related field preferred.

Organizational Relationships and General Description

Description of Key Responsibilities

1. Responsible for volunteer recruitment and retention

  • Enters volunteer information in data base for reporting and statistical accountability and grant reporting.
  • Must recruit and retain a constant volunteer base of 20-30 volunteers and child cases.
  • Coordinates cases and volunteers with Volunteer Coordinator and makes assignments.

2. Conducts volunteer training.

  • Ensures that volunteers complete required training hours and documents.
  • Maintains volunteer training files.
  • Participates in conducting volunteer training sessions as scheduled.
  • Ensures background screens are completed on prospective volunteers and documented in chart.

3. Responsible for coordination and supervision of all volunteer efforts.

  •  Coordinates and assigns volunteer cases.

5. Reviews and edits Volunteer’s court reports to ensure accuracy and content

  • Reviews, edits and corrects Volunteer court and panel reports for accuracy and content.

6. Provides information for monthly CASA e-news letter for volunteers & stakeholders to stay aware of program activity and community outreach.

+Care Specialist - Therapeutic Foster Care Columbus

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, sociology or other social services field and two years’ experience in social services working with children and families OR Master’s degree in social services field and one year of related work experience.  Foster care system and/or mental health work experience preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provides comprehensive case coordination for children diagnosed with a range of behavioral health, developmental and medical diagnoses who are placed in therapeutic foster homes.
  2. Takes primary responsibility for overseeing that children’s emotional and mental health needs are being met in the TFC program.
  3. Provides regular technical assistance and support to the Therapeutic Foster Parents in the implementation of the Master Service Plan.

  • Supervises residents and ensures that appropriate rules and regulations are followed during on/off campus activities.

III.        Description of Key Responsibilities

Provides comprehensive case coordination for children diagnosed with a range of behavioral health, developmental and medical diagnoses who are placed in therapeutic foster homes.

  • Visits with children and therapeutic foster parents, spending time alone with children during visits to monitor child progress, to assess for risk and to allow child opportunities to communicate special concerns. Frequency of visits is determined by the level of need and are a minimum of every other week or weekly.  Visit frequency may be more frequent in special circumstances.
  • Visits children’s school and mental health appointments to interact and collaborate with other professionals serving children.
  • Ensures the goals and objectives of the child’s Master Service Plan are implemented as planned.
  • Monitors children to ensure that health, educational, social, physical and emotional needs are being met.
  • Ensures provision of children’s services provided by the foster parent promote the health, safety and well-being of the foster child.
  • Observes and reports the foster parent’s compliance with program operating procedures to supervisor.
  1. Takes primary responsibility for overseeing that children’s emotional and mental health needs are being met in the therapeutic program.
  • Development of each child’s written initial and comprehensive Master Service Plan and regularly scheduled plan reviews.
  • Organizes and conducts formal treatment team meetings to develop the initial Master Service Plan and holds meetings to update plans every six months or more often as needed. Conduct quarterly desk reviews at the midpoint between meetings.
  • Provides guidance for and documents the use of interventions for targeted behaviors developed through the service planning process and the child’s progress toward goals and objectives of the plan.
  • Coordinates all mental health and medical services and consults regularly with all service providers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Ensures a child’s educational needs are met. Makes referrals for special education services, attends meetings, maintains contact with school counselors and/or teachers and monitors the child’s educational progress.
  • Provides a minimum of two educational support activities per month for each child served.
  • Ensure teenaged children participate in Independent Living Program (ILP) activities. Conducts Independent Living Skills assessments for teenaged children, develops ILP plans and monitors/documents progress on ILP goals.
  1. Provides regular technical assistance and support to the Therapeutic Foster Parents in the implementation of the Master Service Plan.
  • Provides strategies for goal setting, behavior management interventions.
  • Offers emotional support and relationship building, shares information and training to enhance professional development and observation/assessment of family interactions and stress.
  • Assists in foster parent training.
  • Arranges respite breaks for foster parents and completes respite packages to document activity.
  • Transports children as needed.
  1. Provides support for the birth families for children served.
  • Enhances child’s relationships with birth family members as needed through a coordinated effort with the referring agency and in accordance with the child’s Master Service Plan.
  • Documents contacts with birth family in contact notes and monthly summary reports.
  1. Acts as a liaison to the community and advocate for provision of services for children.
  • Determines through a thorough assessment of child’s needs relevant community resources to meet objectives of the service plan.
  • Attends courts hearings, panel reviews, school meetings and clinical reviews as needed or directed.
  • Connects foster parents to resources and monitors provision of services referred to for child’s benefit in accordance with objectives on the child’s service plan.
  1. Provides crisis intervention services and emergency on-call support.
  • Intervenes directly to help resolve crisis situations, provide support to foster parents and children and coordinates emergency response as needed.
  • Responds to crisis calls by phone immediately and in-person as needed.
  • Reports all crisis calls to supervisory staff and follows directives for intervention and crisis management.
  • Consults with supervisor and treatment team in determining need for more restrictive environment, such as a hospital, when child may be danger to self or others.
  • Rotates emergency on-call 24/7 responsibility with other professional staff to cover any crisis within program.
  1. Responsible for documentation, filing and maintenance of child records in accordance with TCYFS policy, licensing and funding source requirements.
  • Documents contacts with children and ancillary sources within 72 hours. Including electronic documentation and paper file documentation.
  • Ensures medical, dental, and therapy progress notes are up to date by filing all documents by the 10th of each month for the prior month.
  • Writes monthly progress reports and submits to referring agency by the 10th of each month for the prior.
  • Writes incident reports as required for licensing, funding sources and TCYFS for serious incidents and significant events. Documents all incidents electronically and/or in writing as required and within 24 hours of incident.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely input of required data for Performance Based Contracting into GA Score system for all assigned cases.
  1. Processes client and foster parent-related data for financial purposes.
  • Completes respite report for each respite occurence and submits to supervisor by an established monthly deadline.
  • Submits Resident Change Sheets for all placement moves, funding changes, discharges and other reportable changes within 24 hours of occurrence.
  • Completes applications, gathers supporting documentation and uploads or submits application packages for funding through the RBWO, MAAC or other fund sources as assigned.

+Victim Advocate / Forensic Interviewer
  1. Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services Delivery or related field preferred.
  • Successful completion of CAC-endorsed forensic interviewing training a plus, but is a requirement once employed.
  • Proficiency in computer programs (Word, Excel and web based databases, etc.) a must.
  • Ability to interface with key community stakeholders a must.
  • The ability to handle highly sensitive issues and confidentiality a must.
  1. Organizational Relationships and General Description
  • Reports to Assistant Program Coordinator (APC).
  • Provides direct forensic interview service to child victim.
  • Maintains on-call emergency contact information and system for after hour appointments
  • Interfaces with Human Service delivery providers within judicial circuit.
  • Interacts with all Twin Cedars Youth Services (TCYS) staff.

  • Conducts Forensic Interviews
    • Conducts forensic interviews on children of all ages and developmentally delayed adults
    • Assists stakeholders in the scheduling and coordination of forensic interviews
    • Stays current on interviewing techniques
    • Interactive participant in scheduled peer reviews (via in person and tele-mental health equipment)
    • Staffs cases with stakeholders, CTH staff and receptive to feedback
    • Prepares for expert testimony with the District Attorney’s office
    • Interfaces with DFCS and law enforcement

 

  • Coordinates victim outreach services for child victims served by CTH
    • Develops and maintains local resource guide and informational packets to provide non-offending caregivers
    • Greet consumers and ensures that victim’s rights are explained
    • Conducts intake assessment with Non-Offending caregiver
    • Ensures that all documentation is maintained and secured in a confidential manner
    • Responsible for coordination of victim intake procedures
    • Serves as point of contact for stakeholders and families for information and referral process
    • Assisting victims served by law enforcement and prosecution in filling out necessary paperwork to ensure personal advocacy throughout the judicial process
    • Conducts follow up case status check-ins with victims and other service providers either in-person or via telephone to ensure linkage with the Victim Assistance Program and the mental health service provider
    • Distributes psycho-educational materials/resources to caregivers
    • Conducts needs assessment with caregivers upon intake

 

  • Responsible for medical accompaniment of victims throughout the sexual assault exam process.
  • Responsible for all scheduling of sexual assault exams and notification of all relevant parties.
  • Accompanies child throughout intake and the sexual assault exam process.

 

  • Serves as primary records custodian for child victims served through the CAC.
    • Makes copies of documentation and recordings for evidentiary purposes.
    • Responsible for executing Evidence Release Forms in accordance with established chain of custody procedures.

+Clinical Therapist / Children's Tree House

l. Qualifications

A. M.S.W./M.A./M.S./M.H.S./M.ED/M.F.T. Degree with a major in the field of Human Services; NBCC or LPC preferred. Must obtain license within three (3) years of hire.

B. One (1) year or more directly related experience working with children/adolescents/families in a clinical setting.

C. Solution focused and crisis intervention skills, a must.

D. Ability to community verbally and in writing.

 

 

ll. Organizational Relationships

A. The Therapist works under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator.

B. The therapist must maintain on-going training and continuing education credits.

C. The therapist must attend all agency-wide in-service training requirements.

lll. Description of Key Responsibilities

A. Provides solution focused psycho-educational support services (BASIC body safety and education strategies) for children/adolescents as assigned by Program Coordinator.

1. Conducts initial intake assessment of child/adolescent and parent(s)/caregiver(s) to obtain history, medical background, and mental health status of child/adolescent.

2. Applies knowledge of trauma and the impact of trauma on the development of children/adolescents.

3. Applies knowledge of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for identifying basic coping strategies.

4. Provides situational crisis counseling and de-briefing strategies to child victims of abuse and witness to violent crime.

5. Provide caregiver education and crisis intervention

6. Increase caregiver knowledge and coping skills for child victims.

7. Responsible for meeting with Victim Advocate directly after identifying need for support services to assess level of expertise required.

8. Responsible for maintaining a schedule that is conducive to clients’ needs.

 

B. Facilitates community-based activities, MDT stakeholder education and victim outreach services.

1. Is responsible for actively participating in any Community Awareness Events.

2. Provides stakeholders with a more depth understand and awareness of the trauma and its effect on child development.

3. Conducts educational seminars about child trauma and therapeutic intervention.

4. Provides community/stakeholder education as requested.

C. Maintains required confidential documentation

1. Keeps up to date case files and progress notes on all clients.

2. Ensure counseling information is updated in the case tracking system.

4. Provides DFCS and Law Enforcement with updated client information

5. Stays up-to-date on the latest research and information for working with traumatized child/adolescents victims by attending workshops, conferences and/or trainings.

D. Facilitates groups for teens and other special populations, multi-family and family support for clients and family members as requested by the Program Coordinator.

+Child Advocacy Center Program Coordinator

I. Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Social Services related field. Master’s degree preferred

· Three years supervisory experience in human service delivery.

· Experience in Grant Writing and completion of programmatic reporting

· Working knowledge of Accreditation standards and Federal and State funding streams for Children’s Advocacy Centers

· Prior case management and child welfare experience a plus.

· Must be willing to work non-traditional hours.

· Ability to work effectively with multiple disciplines in human service delivery.

· The ability to produce effective cooperation and information sharing.

 

II. Organizational Relationships and General Description

· Reports to Director of Advocacy.

· Provides leadership function to all CTH staff.

· Responsible for all programmatic budgeting and grant submissions.

· Maintains on-call emergency contact information and system for after hour appointments.

· Interfaces with Human Service delivery providers within judicial circuit.

· Interacts with all Twin Cedars Youth Services (TCYS) staff.

 

III. Description of Key Responsibilities

1) Provides programmatic oversight for all staff at the Children’s Tree House.

· Supervises all Forensic Services, Mental Health Program, and Forensic medical program

· Identifies ongoing opportunities to expand service provision for the victims of crime in the Chattahoochee judicial Circuit.

· Serves as primary contact for receipt of all legal subpoenas

· Actively seeks training opportunities for all staff to ensure that they are adequately and sufficiently trained

· Ensures incident and accident reports are accurate and submitted promptly.

· Conducts programmatic staff meetings, supervision, and PAI’s and provide supervisory feedback

· Balances disciplinary action with positive reinforcement to ensure quality services are provided to all clients

· Holds staff accountable, including training requirements (peer review, CJCC, CACGA, forensic interviewing, mental health CEU, forensic medical CEUs)

· Ensures new staff is fully oriented to agency/program and policies and procedures

· Maintains staff scheduling and submission of time reports to HR & VOCA timesheets

· Monitors staff interactions and works to identify solutions for staff/client/stakeholder disputes

 

2) Leadership in Stakeholder Collaboration

· Provides oversight for interagency cooperation and ensures that positive working relationships are promoted among all agencies organizations and counties within the judicial circuit.

· Provides education and in-person CTH overview tour for all stakeholders

· Attends all required community events and serves as CTH representative

· Conducts forensic interviews within Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit

· Provides supervision and feedback for forensic interview staff and fields inquiries regarding challenging situations during case staffings

· Provide expert testimony in Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit and consults with District Attorney’s office for prosecution strategies

· Remains active member of all circuit-wide MDT case review teams

 

3) Assumes CTH fiscal and grant writing responsibilities

· Monitors budget for CTH and assists Director of Advocacy with budget development.

· Approves CTH purchases for the express purpose of general operating expenditures

· Responsible for maintaining a balanced budget for program

· Timely completion and submission of all state, federal and local grants

· Ensures that all required programmatic reporting is submitted

 

4) Maintains National and State Accreditation standards

· Organizes all required site review materials and timely submission for CACGA, NCA, and COA

· Serves as liaison and point of contact to all site-review team members

· Stays abreast of current National and State Accreditation standards

· Identifies areas where a gap exists and works toward revision

 

5) Serves as agency representative at CACGA sponsored meetings.

· Attends Children’s Advocacy Centers of Georgia (CACGA) quarterly meetings

· Networks with CAC directors across the state to stay connected to the best practice intervention strategies

· Seeks opportunities to become involved with CACGA Board of Directors and Committee assignments

· Encourages MDT partners and CAC staff to attend the Annual “One Team” conference for ongoing education

 

6) Serves as Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit Child Abuse Protocol Coordinator.

· Serves as interagency intermediary to ensure compliance with child abuse protocol

· Chairs annual Child Abuse Protocol meeting between service agencies.

· Prepares and updates annual child abuse protocol and ensures signing by appropriate parties

· Disseminates Child Abuse Protocol to requesting agencies and fields any questions regarding its implementation and utilization

· Provides Child Abuse Protocol trainings and workshops for community stakeholders

 

7) Responsible for physical presentation and work function of CTH.

· Requests submitted to maintenance within 24 hours of observation.

· Ordering appropriate materials, supplies and equipment for operation purposes

· Fielding all IT and technology concerns to the appropriate vendor for proper working equipment for all staff and medical components

· Ensures evidence of “home like” atmosphere of center

· Identifies appropriate cultural outreach materials for the victim resources

· Proactively conducts center safety inspections to indicate areas of concern and ensure that they are addressed

 

8) Serves as Community Child Abuse Prevention and Intervention Facilitator

· Conducts mandated reporter education, Darkness to Light, and other prevention trainings as requested by counties/agencies/organizations within the judicial circuit

· Organizes opportunities for stakeholder training collaboration bi-annually

· Conducts United Way campaign and other community presentations which showcase CTH

· Informs related agencies of services provided by CTH

· Provides Law Enforcement in-service trainings

· Presents to community organizations that have a vested interest in CTH

 

8) Provides Supervision to Masters level interns

· Presents current research articles for education and best practice guide

· Creates opportunities for staffings and identifies Programmatic projects

· Reviews all assessments and intakes conducted

· Corresponds with Field Placement supervisors

      Description of Key Responsibilities

Coordinates victim outreach services for child victims of suspected sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, and teen dating violence.

  • Greets consumers and ensures that victim’s rights are explained and protected and that all documentation is maintained and secured in a confidential manner.
  • Responsible for coordination of victim intake procedures including, but not limited to, assisting victims served by law enforcement and prosecution in filling out necessary paperwork to ensure personal advocacy throughout the judicial process.
  • Makes referrals to Victim Assistance Program to unsure victim linkage and transition into court system.

Key Responsibilities
