The Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home provides residential care for severely emotionally, behaviorally disturbed females, ages 7-18. Residents live in a safe staff-secured environment. Licensed by the Office of Regulatory Services and accredited by COA, the home has the capacity to accommodate up to 46 residents.

The Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home provides maximum watchful oversight, like skills training and year round educational services at Ault Academy, our on-site school. We also involve our girls in scouting, team building, fine arts, community athletics, and volunteer work to help normalize their lives.

A strength-based, community-based, family focused philosophy accentuates all aspects of the Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home’s program. Resident’s strengths are recognized and utilized in developing service plans as well as encouraging them to display their strengths to others. Community involvement allows the girls to practice social skills and give back to the communities that support them. Family visitation and family contact is encouraged as often as possible.

The Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA); Member Agency: Georgia Association of Homes and Services for Children (GAHSC); Child Welfare League of America (CWLA); Participating Agency: Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA) and National Adolescent Perpetration Network (NAPN)

Established in 1994, the Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home Auxiliary plays a vital role in supporting residents. Many times, the girls have no family to turn to for encouragement. Auxiliary members serve as pen pals, birthday pals, and coordinate special event throughout the year to help further sustain the nurturing environment created by the AESH staff.
