Comprehensive Awareness Program

The Comprehensive Awareness Program (CAP) provides prevention education to "at-risk" youth and their parents or legal guardians in 10 counties throughout Georgia including: Butts, Carroll, Coweta, Heard, Lamar, Meriwether, Pike, Spalding, Troup, and Upson. The program is designed to provide early intervention and prevention services to parents and their children.

Targeted for the first-time offender involved in the juvenile court system or youth identified as "at-risk" by the Department of Family and Children Services, public or private service providers, the school system and /or other community based family programs. The goals of CAP are to help youth in selecting positive lifestyles by increasing their awareness level of consequences resulting from negative behavior. This program is also designed to help parent(s) or legal guardian(s) of the youth in developing and improving parenting skills. The program consists of six, three-hour evening sessions, totaling 18 hours of treatment or five, four-hour Saturday sessions.
