Challenge Ropes Course

The Challenge Ropes Course is located in Columbus, Georgia on the campus of the Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home.

Our highly structured course provides participants the opportunity to develop group dynamics, interaction, and problem solving. Participants achieve both personal goals and team growth through a series of carefully designated mental and physical challenges. Skillfully sequenced, the course advances from engaging on-the-ground initiatives to higher, challenging elements. Individuals leave the experience with a heightened sense of self, as well as a more developed knowledge of their role on the team.

The team acquires improved identity, cohesion, purpose, problem solving skills, and confidence in taking risks. Processing of these activities by trained and experienced facilitators, better equips each participant to return to his/her school. workplace, or community better prepared to meet new challenges.

Twelve low challenges and six high elements are nestled around a wooded two-acre pond. The year-round course offers half, full, and multi-day experiences with the opportunity to break for meals or other training opportunities at the lake cottage.

A sliding fee scale is available for churches and nonprofit organizations.

An indoor course with rock climbing walls, giant group swing and inside zip line is located in LaGrange, Georgia at the Bradfield Campus.

"There are not many people who would spend a Saturday morning trying to guide and teach young adults the values of life. The course gave me the opportunity to get to know my classmates better."

"I appreciate all you did for us on the ropes course. Since then I have been using all that I learned from you as much as possible. I get along even better in large groups, and I am more imaginative when it comes to problem solving."
